I must say....girl has got some style!

So for the last couple of months, mostly on the weekends, I will tell Brooklynn to go get herself dressed for the day. I let her pick out anything she wants to wear. This is what you get when you tell a 3 yr. old to go get dressed.

The picture of her shoes and socks was a school day when I did let her pick her outfit. She had the silver sparkly shoes, yellow and blue socks and a hot pink dress.

I must say....girl has got some style.

Until next time!!

7 months!

Braelynn just turned 7 months! It seems like last week Justin and I were loading up and heading up to the hospital to have sweet Lil B. I will never forget hearing her squeaky little cry for the first time and then Justin runs up to me and says "Babe...she looks exactly like Brooklynn". I just laid there on the operating table crying like a big baby listening to my Lil B squeak away. She cried up until the point when the nurse put her face up next to mine. I rubbed her little face and talked to her until she calmed down. Justin, Brooklynn and I are so in love with that little girl. Even in the middle of the night when she wakes me from my beauty sleep and I go in her room to see what the fuss is all about and she looks up at me a smiles I can't help but smile and giggle back at her. She melts my heart.

Braelynn Reese in a nutshell at 7 months....

  • Goes to bed at 7 pm

  • Sometimes sleep all night but sometimes doesn't it's 50-50

  • Sits up

  • Crawling everywhere...not the normal crawl though...it's an Army crawl. She is fast!

  • Loves to eat! Loves everything except peas (I can't blame her though)

  • Claps

  • Laughs

  • Loves watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Sometimes that's the only way I can get dinner made in the evenings is to turn it on.

  • Starting to get some hair come in. Pretty sure it is going to be really thick!

  • Not much of a bow type of girl. I am still working on this.

  • Weighs 21 lbs.

  • Size 3 diapers....they are getting snug.

  • No teeth....should be coming in real soon though.

  • Grunts and yells at me when I don't feed her fast enough. I am still working on this as well.

  • Loves her Mommy and Daddy

  • Absolutely adores her Big Sis

She also said her first word the other day. Guess what it was.....Daddadadadadada!! I have been working every night for the last couple of weeks on Momma. Obviously she hasn't been listening!

Until next time!

Allergy Shot Pro

If anyone who has a kiddo that has bad allergies knows it isn't fun, nor is it easy! It's sad..it's frustrating...it's a whole ball of emotions that I can't even begin to explain. Brooklynn's allergies started when she was around 3 months old. We seriously should have had our own parking spot in front of the doctors office. I look back on it now and I am like why did I even bother taking her to see her doctor....I knew exactly what she was going to say to me....it's allergies. Saline and suction was about all I could do for my sweet Miss "B". I got so tired of hearing you are just going to have to saline and suction Amanda...that's all you can do for her. She was to young for allergy medicine and even when she did get a little older and we were able to give a something it didn't help. SO FRUSTRATING!! Talk about giving Momma major anxiety! If you have ever listening to your kid cough constantly all night long you know what I am talking about

So last Summer I changed Pediatricians (best choice I ever made). We now see Dr. Kenneth Jackson at Grand Prairie Pediatric & Allergy Clinic. It's funny because growing up I went to the same place. I am not sure if it was called Grand Prairie or not but I do know that Dr. Jackson was practicing there. I saw Dr. Behler. The place still smells the same and everything!! Crazy! After about 2 months of seeing Dr. Jackson he said....Amanda I would really like to allergy test Brooklynn. You think about it and if you are interested call us and make an appointment. 2 weeks later we got allergy tested. That was one of the worst 3 - 4 hours of my life. She got pricked about 25 times up and down her arms and on her back. She was crying....I was crying, it was horrible.

See her little arms in this picture....this was a couple of days after she got allergy tested. Poor arms. The other side looks the same and so does her back.

End result of the allergy test.....severe allergies. She is severely allergic to something in every season that we have here in Oklahoma. Also on the list were dogs, cats, soy, banana, and strawberry and many many more. She now get's a weekly allergy shot. Every Saturday we load up and head to Dr. Jackson's office. She does really well up until she sees the nurse and depending on what kind of mood she is in the shot either goes really really bad or really well. Lately she has been a pro at the shots. The other day she went back all by herself and had no problems at all. Then there are days when I am picking up shoes that she has kicked off, sunglasses if she is wearing them, baby dolls if she brought one in. Those days I dislike.....well I mean it's not like I like seeing her get a shot at all, but the days when she doesn't take them as well as the others just makes me want to break down a cry. I will say that the shots have been working!! In the last year we went from doing a breathing treatment nightly...sometimes even in the morning, to doing them only as needed!! That makes me super happy!! We are due to get retested soon. Fingers crossed that she has grown out of some of these horrible allergies.

Reading a magazine while waiting for them to call her back.

Getting a little pep talk.

OUCH!

All done!! She is showing off her cool band aid.

See she is an Allergy Shot Pro!!

Everyday I thank God for blessing Justin and I with two super healthy beautiful little girls. If having a child with allergies is the only thing I have to deal with.....I am okay with that.

Until next time!

It's My Life and I Love it!

I know! I know!! I went MIA for.....3 months....BUT I am back. ;)

So I realize that my initial plan for my blog was to "try" and blog at least once a week. As you can all see that kinda went down the drain. I think about blogging all the time. I just feel like I never have time to actually sit down and do it. These days I don't have a lot of time for anything. Don't get me wrong I LOVE my life. Seriously wouldn't change it for the world, but working a full time job, being a military wife and being the Mommy to the two most precious little girls is....let's just say pretty challenging.

I love the fact that Justin is in the Navy. It makes me proud. He takes his job very seriously. He puts in super long hours. Long hours away from the girls and I and long hours away from his close friends. So when Justin had the opportunity to go to the lake for a guys weekend I was pretty excited for him. They all had a great time catching up with each other and I know Justin really needed that time with his friends. He got home Sunday around noon. Just in time to spend some time with his girls and then go to work that night. So like I said it is hard being military wife. I knew it would be hard going into our relationship. For the most part I have gotten use to how the military works and I try my hardest to be super supportive. I feel like in order for anyone to be successful in the military they have to have a great support system at home. With all that being said Justin's job is demanding and when they demand his time that's when I have to be supportive and take over. I came across this quote the other day and thought it pretty much said it all.

"There is no other woman in the world like the Navy wife. She is indeed unique! She is indeed rare!" - Unknown

Our weekdays are beyond crazy!! Get up in the morning get myself ready for work, take care of our 3 furry kids, get the diaper bag together, get Miss B ready, wake up Lil B get her ready and then FINALLY get out the door. Get both girls loaded up in the car (by this time I am already sweating). I sit down in the drivers set and take a HUGE deep breath. That right there wears me out. Drive Miss B to school unload both of the girls drop Miss B off load Lil B back into the car drive about a mile down the road unload Lil B again (did I mention she was 19 lbs) drop her off at daycare get back into my car.....take another HUGE deep breath and start my journey into work. Then in the afternoon pick up Lil B pick up Miss B go home cook dinner, 2 baths, clean up dinner, put the girls down for the night look at the clock and it's already 8:45 - 9pm. Remember I was already tired the second I sat down in my car before I even pulled out of my driveway that morning. To even think about doing anything else besides sitting down and watching a little T.V. just isn't going to happen. I am sure our weekdays will eventually slow down but I think for now it is peddle to the melt fast pace. Thank goodness I have a very low stress job or I think I would be checking my myself into a crazy house. :)

Hopefully I don't sound like I am gripping.....cause I am really not trying too. Like I said before I seriously wouldn't change my life for anything. It's my life and I love it!! So between my three full time jobs, now I am sure you can understand why I have been neglecting my blog. :)

I will leave you with a couple of pictures to make you smile. :)

This is how Braelynn gets woken up every morning.

"Froggie" the Frog

Saturday while playing in the backyard we found our first frog of the season.......well I think it's a frog but it could be a toad. To be totally honest, I am not sure I know the difference between the two besides the fact that one swims and one doesn't, but I have no idea which is which. This frog very well could be a toad but we are just going to go ahead and call it a frog......Froggie the Frog to be exact. That's the name Miss B decided on. He was hiding under the water hose and when Justin went to move the hose he started hopping away. Brooklynn thought it was the coolest thing ever.

For some reason I have a little soft spot in my heart for frogs. Back when we lived in our house that had the pool we were having this horrible rain storm. I was looking out the window and saw this helpless little frog frantically trying his hardest to get out of the pool. There was no way that frog was going to make it out of the pool alive if I didn't do something.....so I ran in the backyard (remember we are having a HORRIBLE rain and wind storm......like tornado kind of wind) reached down in the water a rescued that little frog. I am sure I totally made his day. ;-)

Every year we have two or three frogs that hang out at our house. I leave the outside lights on at night so they can eat the bugs. When I water the yard they get to take their showers. I don't bother them, they don't bother me.......it's kinda our agreement.

Froggie ended up hopping away and we haven't seen him since. Brooklynn keeps asking about him.....which is cute to me. Maybe she will have a soft spot in her heart for frogs like her Momma does. By the looks of it I think i am right!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Wednesday!!!

Just a few things.....

I have been meaning to save a little time in my day to blog but sometimes it's just not possible. I told myself Amanda you will blog tonight so here I am. :)

Here are just a few things that have been going on at our crazy busy house.

Braelynn has ALMOST perfected rolling over. She will get it pretty soon. She will just lay on her blanket and roll back and forth and grunt and then eventually get's frustrated and give up.

Braelynn also turned 3 months on the 3rd!! This has seriously been the fastest 3 months of my life. Seems like just the other day I was waddling around with a HUGE belly!

We went to Stars and Strips Park the other day after we took Brooklynn to get her allergy shot. She loves going to the park. Out of everything that they have at Star and Stripes the only thing she wanted to do was swing. We were seriously there for about and hour and Justin pushed her the whole time. She never even went down the slides or anything......she just wanted to swing. :)

I hope everyone has a wonderful week!!
